SB1133:
- Makes an historic $2.7 billion investment in our lowest performing schools and is paired with an accountability framework and a set of programmatic requirements that will optimize chances for student success.
- Participating schools will be required to reduce class sizes, ensure access to school counselors and experienced teachers, provide high quality professional development for teachers, and ultimately achieve significant improvements in student academic achievement.
- This legislation will also address the need to retain teachers at our most challenging schools and ensure that we have a balanced level of experience in schools that are most in need.
- This bill makes a tremendous step forward for career technical education opportunities with a $326 million investment in the California Community Colleges.
